💻 Work
- I've done some UX design freelancing work this year for two different projects (two websites and one platform), beside working full time for a law tech company.
- I stopped it all last month since I joined Dell Technologies.
- My employment was facilitated by a tech recruitment company named Taller, which subcontracted another company called Kforce. In Portuguese, I'd call this process as 'quarteirizar'. Which essentially involves hiring a company that, in turn, hires another company to carry out the work.
- While initially confusing, I became comfortable with this arrangement. I'm glad about this opportunity, as working with a global team motivates me.
🧠 What I'm thinking about
- I've been living a paradox lately. My mind has been bubbling with ideas, ranging from customizing our apartment to redoing my entire portfolio. This need for new discoveries and experiments somewhat conflicts with my desire to take life more slowly. I'm afraid of becoming overwhelmed and burning out again.
- Buying a bicycle was one of the best acquisitions we've made lately. Biking around the neighborhood, especially in the morning when the sun is still rising, has been my source of energy for the day. The pastel colors in the sky inspired me to draw with the same color palette.
- Today marks the 10th week of me gamifying my weeks. I've been experimenting with setting a list of priorities for the week and sending them to my partner, who has been my accountability 'buddy'. Sharing things publicly helps me to be more accountable, and setting a list helps me to give visibility and see the progress I'm making, which silences that little voice in my head that says I should be doing more. This idea of having an accountability buddy with priorities for the week came from the book 'Million Dollar Weekend'.
💡 Building habits
- Journaling my feelings during the week
- Setting 'big rocks’ for the week every Sunday
- Drawing at least 5 minutes everyday
